OVERVIEW
The pinkuyo is a fipple flute, the mouthpiece of which is similar to that of the recorder. Different versions of this instrument are played in many areas of the Andean region.
Our pinkuyos are made mainly out of bamboo cane, and they are fingered in the same manner as a quena.

OFFSET FINGER HOLES
There are two possible ways of fingering the pinkuyo, namely 3-3-1 and 4-2-1. On the pinkuyos that we regularly produce, you will be able to apply whichever of them, but only if you place your left hand above and your right hand below. If you do the opposite, however, just let us know so we can craft your instruments customized as you need.
